i also thought about some coasters with pictures from the girls childhood on it for keepsake, any suggestions???
Idea #1-
I think a great gift idea is a kitchen herb garden. This way the person will always have fresh herbs to cook with. Buying these at the store is very expensive….but they would have them growing right in the kitchen whenever they need them. With that you could buy them a bottle of peppers that would add some fire to any dish. Then buy a book on 'Herb Gardening'.
Idea #2-
several bags of unique pastas … all different shapes and styles. Pasta keeps for a long time and would be a great staple for any kitchen. Remember to get her some unique containers to put the dry pasta in for storage. You could add in a cookbook for gourmet pasta recipes as well. They have great cookbooks at Borders Books.
Idea #3-
A book shelf to mount on the wall for storing cookbooks. ~or~ a stylish recipe storage box that would be easily accessable while cooking.
Idea #4-
Remember the show 'Home Improvements'?
You can get them a serious first aid kit for the home …yet sort of a gag gift as well. Stock this with Triple Antibiotic ointment and a box of bandaids for cuts and scrapes. A bottle of Ibuprophen and a bottle of Tylenol for all the headaches of being a new home owner. A thermometer for when they lose their Temper-ature. Antacids for when they start to develop ulcers from worry. A list of the local emergency numbers in case they want someone to come rescue them.
Idea #5-
An emergency kit for when the lights go out. Get the emergency household candles and some candle holders. A flashlight with a weatherband radio on it and a siren. Make sure to include an extra pack of batteries.
